History of India

Each and every country has a history of its own. The country of India, which is situated in the continent of Asia, also has a history. The history of India is a rich one. The history of India can be traced back to the particular civilization called Indus Valley Civilization. It is during the particular period of 2500 BC that a a civilization grew up in the valley of the Indus river.

As far as the history of India is concerned, the Indus Valley civilization has to be mentioned. This particular civilization based on trade and commerce, and was subsisted by agricultural trade. This civilization declined around 1500 B.C. Marked the decline of this particular civilization. After this the Aryans came to settle in India and also in the other countries of the Indian subcontinent. The Aryans chose the middle Ganges River valley for their settlement. During the particular period of 4th and 5th centuries A.D., the Gupta Dynasty came to rule India. This particular period is the Golden age in the History of India.



This particular period in the Indian history is so called because it is during this period that the culture of Hinduism and political rule acquired remarkable heights. During the particular period of tenth and eleventh centuries, the country of India was captured by the Afghans and Turks, thus marking the sultan administration in India. In the early part of the sixteenth century, Genghis Khan's descendants crossed the Khyber Pass and came to India in order to commence the Mughal Dynasty. The Mughal Dynasty ruled for about two hundred years. It is the end of the year of 1619 that the East India Company established its trade stations at the states of Mumbai, Kolkata, Madras, Mumbai. After this the British people extended their influence and gradually took the whole of India under their administration. On the 15th of August in the year of 1947, India finally got its independence.
