The Char Dham is actually the four important pilgrimage sites on the Himalayas. These four pilgrimage sites are considered to be the seats of God. In Kedarnath, Lord Shiva can be found in one of his forms. People visit this place as here lies one of the twelve jyotirling or the linga of light. Gangotri:
Gangotri is the picturesque pilgrimage spot where Ganga touched earth for the first time. This pilgrimage spot is included in the Chardham Tour of India. The pilgrimage site is nearly 99 km away from Uttrarkashi and is situated at a height of 3140 meters.
